Dad, I would say that the concept of who or who is not a Jnani, has some relevence, in a way, because they are incredible sources of wisdom. It does appear to me, that maybe there is this background reality, that in Hinduism called the Self, and when the all the individual notions have been given up, a person becomes the Self, a Jnani. What that might mean in physical terms, not sure. Barack Obama I think is an egoless Jnani.
Dear Scott,
Your sense that it's a dynamical attractor in the space of possible behaviors that each of us, in our own context, has access to is probably right on. I recall a specific conversation I was having with Jeannie Speier at Saint Louis U when I was your age, when I had a similar sense that there is this way of being that hasn't found a solid place in the vernacular of the time.
Since you have great intuitive mathematical skill in that context, you might enjoy helping us clarify our thinking about this attractor by exploring the behavior of attractors in simpler variable spaces to start off with*. It would be good and enjoyable for me to help, so let me know if you decide to explore some other behavioral attractors in that context.

My sense is also that although most haven't thought about it, that it is a mode that's likely accessible in the position-momentum space of almost everyone's behavior. In that sense it's not a place to reach that makes you different from everyone else, but a mode of operating in the present. N'est pas?
Cheers. /dad
