Protein People

Sorry for the inconvenience, scroll down below the protein pics (colorful ribbon images) to get to the actual posts. An archive is on the right side. Even if you click on one, you have to scroll down from the top past the images to see the post ("Nothing is My Lover is the Last One").
Below are the Cellular Citizens, dwellers in Prokaryotic Villages, and Eukaryotic Metropolii. Worshippers of the Bible Genome, on it's many Chromosomal Bookshelves. Some really large and naive folks call them protein molecules.

Factor 8 and Blood Clotting

This is a part of the protein called Factor VIII that is very involved in the process of blood clotting. There is a signalling cascade of molecules that communicate with each other en-acting the formation of the blood clot at a wound. All proteins are made of a long chain of amino acid units linked together as if they are holding hands, they then fold into an individual kind of protein, such as Factor VIII, the ribbon shows the path of the chain, in a very nice light green I've highlighted what are known as the side chain, this is the part of the amino acid units that differs between each of the 20 kinds of amino acids. These differing side chain aspects are, based on their atomic interactions, what cause the protein to fold into a certain shape, and take on a specific function. Proteins are the people-like machines that make a living thing work, doing zillions of tasks inside every living cell. The grey part is the actual backbone of the chain, which is identical between different kinds of amino acids.

  1. I have been following your blog with the Google Reader. I am grateful about the posts and pictures.

Pardon me for asking this: what kind of impact has the study of life-science at its basic level made upon you? My guess is that this spiritual interest and the science study would have enriched the enjoyment of each other. If so, you are undoubtedly luckier than many of us...

    Regards,

  2. Thank you so much. I'm not sure, except ironically, maybe the scientific interest, made me question the reality of the world and myself, because it is so extremely bizarre.

  3. Thanks replying to my uncommon query.

  4. On second thought, I was thinking about how perhaps the spiritual pull, caused me to investigate, inquire into the reality of the world by taking science classes. How real is the scientific creation mythology.

  5. Thanks.

One of my friends insists that scientific understanding is logical, and as a consequence, it has no impact on our everyday life.

For example quantum science has had no effect on the scientists who investigated the nature of reality.

However it may be, I am sure this could give a momentum and direction- it would not be same for the man who has never heard of non-duality, or is not serious about it.
