History (as real as the Historian)


I had a real intense obsession with time, and space size scale comparisons. This was time, if a second were a year, evidently I made it in 2006

February 1575-September 1584 1625, Bernard’s star forms October 1698 earliest metal-rich stars form, November 1847, our Sun forms July 1861, formation of the Earth as well as the other planets March 1873 the first rocks solidifySeptember 1882 Life beginsJune 1895 first photosynthesis April 1911 intense continental formation starts September 1928 the surface of the Earth becomes covered in glaciers almost to the equator June 1933 there is a tremendous Oxygen buildup leading to the current Oxygen levels

October 1945 Eukaryotes evolve through endosymbiosis,
May 1968, the peak of stromatolites (bacterial mats), as well as the origin of sexual reproduction (that is kind of funny)
January 1981 the second Snowball Earth period begins

March 1984, decline of stromatolites that are grazed upon by the first animals which did not leave fossils
May 1987 end of 2nd Snowball Earth as well as the evolution of the first jellyfish, sponges, flatworms. This is the first time animals have neurons. January 1988 Ediacaran fauna. Mysterious animals, that disappeared shortly after. Georgia and Conneticut celebrate their bicentennials
March 1989 The Cambrian Explosion of fossil leaving animals. Pikaia is the first “known” chordate. January 1993 Plants invade land January 1995 tetrapods invade land, first seed bearing plants. June 1995-May 1997 the Golden age of sharks starts April 1996. The synapsid split that led to mammals. November 1996- September 2000 time period that Pangea exists. Pangea forms June 1998 Permian-Triassic extinction event (90% of marine species, 70% of land vertebrates) February 1999 appearance of dinosaurs. June 1999 apperance of bipedal dinosaurs, and Ecynodonts the ancestors of mammals. July 2001 Archeopteryx, first “known” fossil bird,April 2002, flowers evolve for first time, June 2002 placental mammal lineage splits off from mainline mammal evolution.September 2003, intense mammalian diversification and radiation. March 2004 apperance of Tyrannasaurus Rex. May 2004 Meteor hits Earth and effectively wipes out dinosaurs. Known as Cretaceous Tertiary Extinction Event.September 2004 Australia breaks from Antarctica. First proto-primates appearAugust 2004- May 2005. The Eocene in which most modern mammalian orders appear including whales and hooved animals, as well as carnivores. February 2006 humans and chimps split from eachother, the same month the human population reaches 6.5 billion
April 19th 2006 Australopithecine footprints
May 9th 2006 first homo erectus fossils
May 27th 2006 end of homo erectus
Midnight the morning of may 30th Neanderthals appear
12:30 in the morning of the 31st mitochondrial eve
5:00 in the morning on June 1st, the Great Leap forward. Humans make really cool tools and artwork for first time
9:45 in the morning Neanderthals disappear
2:30 this afternoon fertile crescent agriculture
3:15 agriculture in Asia begins
5pm beginning of Shang dynasty
5:26 beginning of Roman Empire
5:59 beginning of WWII
