I am not a god (an immortal), not, indeed, a mortal, not a demon, not a ghandarva, not a yaksa, not a variety of devil, Not, indeed, a man, not a woman, [and] also not a hermaphrodite; Superior, of a shining (illuminating) nature, Siva I am. -Adi Shankacharya (picture above)

Protein People

Sorry for the inconvenience, scroll down below the protein pics (colorful ribbon images) to get to the actual posts. An archive is on the right side. Even if you click on one, you have to scroll down from the top past the images to see the post ("Nothing is My Lover is the Last One").
Below are the Cellular Citizens, dwellers in Prokaryotic Villages, and Eukaryotic Metropolii. Worshippers of the Bible Genome, on it's many Chromosomal Bookshelves. Some really large and naive folks call them protein molecules.

Last night's adventure

Was hanging out with a friend of mine (Typo-d mind), walking around the city. Early on in the discussion, walking, him with his feathered top-hat and John Lennon appearance, very relaxed gate that I always admired. He asked if I was still being disciplined about physical energy work, and expressed interest in it himself. I said, that inquiry, investigation into consciousness had taken over. He said that as he walked around the desert, in the Southwest, he would ask himself "Who am I?", "Who am I?" in reply. I lit up with a big grin, told him that was the inquiry I've been practicing for the last two years. Excitedly, I asked him if he came up with it himself. So he said he came accross it somewhere. I dilligently inquiring as we walked, and conversated, the sentiments he expressed were a natural understanding that there is the little self, and a bigger Self. I was excited because it seemed he had an intuitive, non-intellectual understanding. He said that when he has a crush on a girl, when he writes them it is like a prayer, because there was only myself, and the girl is like a mirror. I said there was a Rumi poem about a women asking if he loved her, and he said, if only there was someone to love another, but infact I am you.

THE SUNRISE RUBY
In the early morning hour,
just before dawn, lover and beloved wake
and take a drink of water.
She asks, "Do you love me or yourself more?
Really, tell the absolute truth."
He says, "There is nothing left of me.
I’m like a ruby held up to the sunrise.
Is it still a stone, or a world
made of redness? It has no resistance
to sunlight."
This is how Hallaj said, I am God,
and told the truth!
The ruby and the sunrise are one.
Be courageous and discipline yourself.
Completely become hearing and ear,
and wear this sun-ruby as an earring.
Work. Keep digging your well.
Don’t think about getting off from work.
Water is there somewhere.
Submit to a daily practice.
Your loyalty to that
is a ring on the door.
Keep knocking, and the joy inside
will eventually open a window
and look out to see who’s there.

He (my friend) said of course we are always looking for our master, so I told him about my correspondence with a Sage, he said I bet it would be like talking to yourself. And I said that it was like talking to the egoless Self in me. The deeper in Inquiry, there get to be these transcendent, supernatural interactions with others, at the same depth. It made me think of all the serious devotees drawn to Ramana Maharshi. I jokingly call these people "naturals". There is another one that I hang out with on campus, and he looks and talks about like Agent Cooper on Twin Peaks. They are drawn in, so to speak by deep spirituality. They are deep spirituality, ripe fruit ready to fall from the tree.
